Q: What are the yearly club dues for Phoenix Sports Club?
A: $950 membership fee, $50 food plot fee per member - $1,000 total. (membership dues are subject to change based on annual lease prices)
Q: How many members does Phoenix Sports Club carry?
A: We are a 60-member hunt club consisting of a 50/50 local and away member ratio. Away members are deemed as anyone living forty-five miles or greater from the club. This practice is in place to reduce hunting pressure and enhance member satisfaction
Q: How much land is Phoenix Sports Club?
A: 3,800 continuous acres
Q: Once an established member of Phoenix Sports Club when are annual dues to be paid?
A: Dues are to be paid by the first Saturday in March each year
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club offer a membership discount for members with tractor equipment?
A: No – a membership discount is not offered for members with tractor equipment. Use of tractor equipment to complete club projects is done on a voluntary basis
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club offer split or discounted memberships for small game or turkey hunting only?
A: No – we are first and foremost a trophy deer hunt club. The ability to hunt other game is an additional benefit of your membership
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club have regular club meetings?
A: Yes – we plan a minimum of two club meetings per year, one the first Saturday in March when dues are to be paid and again prior to the start of deer season. Additional meetings are scheduled as needed
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club have club stands?
A: Yes – permanent tower stands, ladder stands, and tripods are available on a first come, first serve basis after 4:30 a.m. the morning you plan to hunt
Q: As a member of Phoenix Sports Club am I required to establish a permanent stand?
A: Yes – each member is required to establish at least one permanent stand. Climber stands are not considered a permanent stand
Q: I read on the website where shared stand practices are in place, am I required to share my permanent stand with other members?
A: We strongly encourage all members to promote the use of shared stands. Each member is asked to label their permanent stand(s) with their name and phone number so they can be contacted if another member would like to use their stand(s). This helps foster camaraderie among club members, however it is left at the member’s discretion if they share their stand(s) among members
Q: As a member of Phoenix Sports Club if I place a permanent stand on a club food plot, is my stand considered a club stand for all members to use on a first come, first serve basis?
A: Yes – all stands placed on club food plots are considered club stands and can be hunted by any member on a first come, first serve basis
Q: If I become a member, can my girlfriend/ boyfriend hunt with me at no additional cost?
A: No – club memberships cover spouses and dependent children (21 years of age or younger) only. Family members outside of your spouse or dependent children will need their own membership in order to hunt

Q: If I become a member, can my wife and children access the property and/or hunt without me being present?
A: No – members are carried on the lease insurance as the responsible party. The member must be present when family members access the property and/or hunt, for insurance safety purposes
Q: Are guests allowed to deer hunt?
A: No – only club members, their spouses and dependent children (21 years of age or younger) are allowed to deer hunt. Guests may accompany a club member on small game hunts or call for a member while turkey hunting
Q: As a member of Phoenix Sports Club, am I allowed to scout the property during deer season?
A: Yes – members may scout the property between the hours of 11am and 2pm to avoid hunter disruption and safety concerns
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club have food plots?
A: Yes – we have an annual food plot committee for Fall planting along with minerals sites. Members are also allowed to plant strip plots as they desire, at their own cost
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club allow baiting?
A: Yes – per SCDNR regulations regarding Game Zone 2 baiting. Bait sites are to be removed 14 days prior to the start of turkey season
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club allow stalk hunting of deer or hogs?
A: No – stalk hunting for deer or hogs is not allowed during deer season for safety purposes
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club practice QDM deer management?
A: Yes – we have a minimum inside spread limit of 16”. Each member does have the opportunity to kill one buck of choice in a designated area of the club. This allows for youth and new hunters to have the opportunity to kill their first trophy
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club capture yearly harvest details?
A: Yes – harvest record logs are available in each check-in board. Members are required to log all harvests taken from the property
Q: How many work days are required by each member, each year or season?
A: Phoenix Sports Club does not set designated work days. Members are asked to assist with repair items as they can based on their personal schedules and physical ability to do so. A list of known repairs and/or projects is maintained by the club Communications Officer on the secure member website
Q: If I become a member, what wildlife can I hunt at Phoenix Sports Club?
A: We are first and foremost a trophy deer hunt club, but we also offer turkey, hog, coyote, small game, duck and coon hunting
Q: Can I run dogs on Phoenix Sports Club property?
A: This is a Game Zone 2 hunt club, per SCDNR regulations we do not allow deer hunting with dogs. This applies to hog hunting as well, no dog hog hunting allowed. Dogs may be used for coon and small game hunting only
Q: Can I duck hunt on Phoenix Sports Club property during deer season?
A: Yes – we allow duck hunting on designated days during deer season. Duck hunters are asked to follow established access and entry rules as to not disturb deer hunters or cause safety concerns
Q: Can I coon hunt at night on Phoenix Sports Club property during deer season?
A: Yes – we allow coon hunting at night during deer season
Q: Can I hog hunt at night on Phoenix Sports Club property during deer season?
A: No – night hog hunting is not allowed during deer season
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club offer planted dove fields?
A: No – as primarily a trophy whitetail hunt club we do have fall planted food plots but do not specify fall planting for dove hunting
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club allow recreational riding of ATV’S?
A: No – ATVs can be used for hunting and for property management only. We do not allow recreational riding of ATVs. The club shall not be used as an ATV off-road park
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club have safety practices in place, such as check-in (pin-in) boards and club maps?
A: Yes – we have two mapped check-in board systems in place based on designated hunt areas. As new members are on-boarded they are provided access to maps of the club
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club offer on property camping?
A: No – we do not have camping on-site, however there are numerous camping locations and/or hotel accommodations within a short drive of the club in Greenwood, SC or on Lake Greenwood
Q: Does Phoenix Sports Club maintain documented club rules and by-laws?
A: Yes – a new member packet is provided at the time dues are paid. Additionally, members can access this information from the secure member webpage
Q: I am interested in becoming a member of Phoenix Sports Club but all memberships are currently full, what should I do?
A: We suggest you bookmark the club website and check back often for updates, specifically in the month of April. The website Membership section will be updated to reflect if new members are currently being accepted. If we are accepting new members, a website contact us form should be submitted for review
